Preschool Book Give-away

I'm doing a book giveaway on my blog this week. I will be giving away 2 books- both are used but in good condition- (when I find books I love I can't pass them up- even if I already have them!) Both are books used in Before Five in a Row- the cirriculum I use with Roo- and have used with all myboys when there were preschool age.
Book 1- Caps for Sale by Esphyr Slobodkina- The classic story of a pedler and the monkeys who steal his caps.

And Book 2- The Red Carpet by Rex Parkin- The exciting story of the runaway carpet. With policemen on motorcycles- this is one of our favorite Before FIAR titles. It's Out of Print- and sometimes a little hard to find.

How to enter- it's simple- Blog about something fun and educational you have done with your preschooler lately. (An Example- Katy No-Pocket with Roo)In my comments- leave a link to your blog post. I will have Roo randomly pick the 2 winners on January 30- next Friday.

I don't have a blog, but I have been looking for an affordable copy of The Red Copy for almost 2 years! Can I enter if I leave a comment here? Please?

Here's something fun & educational that the whole family did recently: we visited a wildlife safari park a few hours from home. We petted animals in the petting zoo and then drove through an African safari transplanted in Texas. The girls saw every variety of deer and antelope there is, buffalo, wildebeests, zebras, ostriches, and more! We stayed for 3 hours and did the drive-thru twice. When we got home, I took our digital pictures and made a photo book. Now the girls have their own book of memories from that day!

Ok, I'm ashamed to admit that I haven't done ANY fun educational stuff with my not quite preschooler! We giggle at him as he dances (he is SO STINKIN' CUH-YUTE!), and we tickle him, and play peek-a-boo...

Anyway, I think this is a GREAT give-away. William will be 2 at the end of April and I only have 3 before titles (one of which is caps for sale). I think I need to get on the ball and start collecting!

Blessings andrea!

Hi Andrea :)

Nice to read what others are doing with their littles. :)

I don't need Caps for Sale, but I let my friend borrow my B4FIAR titles to use with her daughter, and I won't be getting Red Carpet back, so I would love a chance to win it!

Here is what we've been up to lately-

And here is the little spider book

Mostly just coloring, learning colors, singing, and having fun! :)

We have been very into schooling lately.. Hence why I have not been really blogging a lot! Fun things for school.. Hmm! Well, I can tell you that we have been making sure that proper sentence structures have and are beeing used.. You know that can be a hard thing to do.. Especially when you have older kids and little ones.. I am not sure that you would call that fun, but it is very needed. My husband comes home evey day and goes through our schooling with a fine tooth comb and has the kids fix what is wrong.. sentences.. wrong answers.. handwriting.. you name it! They fix it.. It is teaching follow through! I appreciate that! I do not know if that counts or not, but thought that I would try!

WOW! I love your week with Katy No Pocket. That is such a fun book.
Your boy looks like he enjoyed being a kangaroo!

We did the Inaugural FNL as well.

First we learnt what the word
"I N A U G U R A L" means.

Then we met the Obamas! (FNL bio and internet article on the Obama's getting ready to move into the White House)

We found out what was on the inside of the White House (newspaper article)

Read about Lincoln's Bible being used at the Inauguration. (FNL)

We got an invitation to see the actual event happening live! (tv and FNL-schedule)

We had lunch with the president! (internet)

Color a picture of Obama (FNL)

We even got to read a personal letter written to Obama's daughters by Jenna and Barbara Bush.

Did a simple quiz (I am up) and read the Inaugural Oath (FNL)

Ended our visit with the Obamas by having Chili (internet) and Peach Cobbler (FNL)

We have Caps For Sale, but don't have The Red Carpet yet!

*We don't have a blog either.

Hi! We would LOVE to win these books, especially The Red Carpet since it is out of print.

My kids are 2 and 6, so we aren't quite doing traditional preschool activities, but we do things that try to meet in the middle.

Today I posted about making felt food, yesterday I posted about our giant math mat for number recognition as well as math facts practice... we've done a lot this week - lots more posts on my blog. :)
