Latest happenings

Last weekend we worked all morning- and decided to go fishing in the afternoon and evening- so we went up the canyon- The fishing was great- the catching....not so good- lol  But we had fun.

Then we tried to find somewhere to have a fire and roast hot dogs for dinner- finally found a place-

Monday- I got to go to Cub Scout Day Camp with Doodle and the boys in his Cub scout den.- I probably have cute pics of your boy if he went with us! ;)- (Rachel & Brenda)

Ben and Roo got a date this week- and they decided to go fishing. (On the ONE beautiful sunny day we had this week- ugg!)  They caught this nice fat trout, and we cooked him up for dinner. YUM!

Fishing

AAAH! With Spring in the air it was time to get out the fishing gear. We all got new fishing poles for Christmas this year. Ben and the boys all got collapsible rods, and I got a bright PINK one. I've never really been a girly girl, and lover of all things pink; But I have decided in a house full of boys a little bit of PINK is a good thing. One bonus- my boys won't use a PINK fishing pole, or PINK earbuds- so I don't have to share. ;) Fishing on the Weber River

After getting "skunked" in the river- we stopped at a small pond on our way home- it's a "children's fishing hole" and only those under 15 can fish there.

Bug is an avid fisherman- he really takes after Ben.
Doodle is a "fair-weather" fisherman like me ;) If the fishin's good we're interested!Roo was the winner! He was the only one who caught a fish. He was glad to catch his dinner.

Fishing Fun

Ben requested that we go fishing for his birthday. So we loaded up the pontoon boat and headed out. We were headed to my mom and dad's cabin. We stopped to fish at the reservoir along the way.

Ben caught a couple of nice fish- but I didn't get very good pictures of them. But they were delicious. :D

Fish and Flips

Doodle has a Sweet Pickles book that he loves to read called Fish and Flips- lol- and this post just reminded me of the book. First the Fish, then the flips.

We went fishing tonight with some friends- and had a super time, and I outfished them all! :D I caught me a nice Rainbow trout, and a HUGE Cutthroat as well. Roo helped me reel in the fish- so he got to have his picture taken with it too. Doodle's friend J caught a nice size Brown trout too. And this wonderful man in front of the mountains- I LOVE him too. Ben is such a great husband and father. I truly appreciate the way he works so hard to support our family. He's so supportive of homeschooling, and I'm so blessed to have him for a husband. Oh- and he's so wonderful to fix my pole, and bait my hook, and take the fish off the line so I don't have to touch it. (ok- but the cutthroat was big enough I had to touch it so I could get my pic with it!)Oh- and now the Flips:

Doodle is quite the gymnast- he was jumping on the trampoline the other night and wanted me to get a movie of him doing his backflip and landing it- so Nana and Bompa and Grandma and Grandpa could see it- So here's his Flip:

The "Boys" fishin trip

Somewhere Ben heard about trout spawning up by Flaming gorge- and apparently it was supposed to be REALLY great fishing- so he decided to take the boys and go. I had a few things I needed to do- so I told him go without me. So Friday night we met Ben in Ogden, and he took the boys and the fishing stuff and headed out. They spent Friday night in some little po-dunk motel, and then got up really really early saturday to go fishing. Apparently the fishing was excellent. They forgot the camera- so I took the pictures after they got home- the limit was 4- so each of them caught one- and released TONS.

The Boys and their Fish According to Roo- he caught "The hugest fish in the world" Is was 24 inches! So it is a BIG fish!Much bigger than those little pan size we catch at the cabin. According to my boys- the best thing about catching fish is EATING them. So we had fish for dinner Saturday night, Fish last night- and there's still more to cook for dinner tonight.
